John Randolph Medical Center Names Dia Nichols New CEO
Former JRMC COO Returns to Lead Area Hospital
Richmond, VA, August 5, 2009 HCA Virginia announced today the appointment of Dia Nichols, FACHE, as Chief Executive Officer of John Randolph Medical Center. He is replacing former CEO Elwood (Bernie) Boone, Jr. who left in April to take a new position with HCA in Texas. Nichols is actually returning to John Randolph where he served as the Chief Operating Officer from 2004 2006. Most recently Nichols served as the Chief Operating Officer of CJW Medical Centers Chippenham Hospital in Richmond.

Nichols received his bachelors degree in Business Administration from South Carolina State University and his masters degree in health care administration from Indiana University. He is active in the community as a member of Rotary International and Board Member of Communities in Schools and the Instructive Visiting Nurse Association. He is married and has two young sons.
Prior to serving as COO of John Randolph Medical Center, Nichols was the Associate Administrator of West Florida Hospital, a 531-bed HCA hospital in Pensacola, Florida. Before joining the HCA family he was an Assistant Administrator with AnMed Health System in South Carolina.
